Poverty Panel: What is Homelessness?

PROGRAM: A panel of community experts will take a deep dive into what is homelessness. There are many definitions. Is it living from couch to couch? Sleeping in a shelter or on the street or in a car? The panel will also address what the challenges of being homeless are and what keeps people there. This program is designed for anyone who wants a better understand about what our community members endure when homeless.

Panel Members:

  • Natalie Gerometta – Social Worker, Winchester City Schools
  • Tyler Thompson – Homeless Liaison/Student Support Specialist, Frederick Co. Public Schools
  • Devin Ray – Manager, Winchester Rescue Mission
  • Valerie Roth – Housing Counselor, Blue Ridge Housing

COST: The Poverty Panel is free to anyone attending. Guests may order dinner, drinks and/or light snacks off of the Brewbaker’s special event menu at their own cost.
